Quinault Nation This course is designed to provide entry level fireighters skills. The Objectives are: QIN Staff Locations
Mission Statement *   Explain what the LCES (Lookouts, Communications, Escape Routes, and Safety Zones) system is and how it relates National Sit Report
Staff       to the Standard Firefighting Orders. Fire Weather
Fuels & Prevention *  Construct fireline to required standards using various methods.  
Employment *   Strengthen, reinforce, and use holding actions on a fireline.  
Outdoor Burning *   Extinguish the fire with or without the use of water.  
Station & Apparatus *   Complete assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.  
Photo Album *   Given an assignment in a wildfire environment, describe factors in that environment which could impact safety.

  S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior

  This course provides instruction in the primary factors affecting the start and spread of wildfire and recognition of  
  potentially hazardous situations. The Course Objectives are:  
  *   Identify and discuss the three sides of the fire triangle.  
  *   Identify the environmental factors of fuels, weather and topography that affect the start and spread of wildland fire.  
  *   Describe the contributing factors that indicate the potential for increased fire behavior that may compromise safety.  
     
  I-100  
  This is an introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS). Topics include: introduction to ICS, basic features of ICS, incident  
  commander and command staff functions, facilities and common responsibilities. It provides a foundation upon which to enable  
  entry-level personnel to function appropriately in the performance of incident-related duties. The Objective is:  
  *   Orientation to the Incident Command System  
     
  L-180 Human Factors on the Fireline  
     
  This course establishes an awareness of human performance issues and how those issues can impact fireline job  
  performance. It addresses human performance content that relates to the individual, including situation awareness,  
  communication, decision making, risk management, and teamwork skills. The desired outcome of this training is  
  improved awareness of human performance issues on the fireline so that individual firefighters can integrate  
  more effectively into teams/crews working in dynamic, high-risk environments. The course is appropriate for all  
  entry-level incident personnel.
